Free from all the nonsense add-ons that have increasingly clouded our driving experience for the better part of five decades the car is tailor-made to be one of the most exclusive and uninhibited classics on American roads. And in addition to highly desirable aesthetics that are the direct result of quality restoration it features an original Super Commando/TorqueFlite drivetrain thats backed by an original Chrysler Broadcast Sheet. If youre in the market for an incredible classic thats poised to rise in value heres your next prospect!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Much cleaner than when it originally rolled down Chryslers storied assembly lines this slick Plymouth coupe has been transformed into a take-no-prisoners show stopper that consistently drops jaws. You wont be staying under the radar with the cars correct Scorch Red paint which highlights a very clean body thats benefitted from a full restoration. There are no signs of rust or rot suggesting that solid metal was a straight trouble-free canvas before its detailed metamorphosis began. Not surprisingly panel gaps are good enough to make factory-spec trim line up exactly right. And overall this fully sorted classic is an impressive representation of timeless Detroit muscle.

Taking a lesson in style and brand awareness from the likes of Ford Chevrolet and Pontiac Plymouth outfitted their mighty GTX with a number of hot styling cues that better differentiate the car from its plebian Belvedere siblings. At the front of this coupes broad shouldered body a red-trimmed grille hangs a prominent GTX emblem between clean headlights simple parking lamps and a heavy chrome bumper. At the top of that grille a correct Air Grabber Hood anchors subtle 440 scripts between polished stainless like-new glass and correct fender-mount turn signals. Behind that hood correct White vinyl flows into a brute profile which centers factory door handles and a correct drivers mirror amid standard marker lamps black rockers and large GTX emblems. At the top of the block a big 4-barrel carburetor sips fuel through fresh stainless fluid lines while sucking oxygen through a color-keyed air cleaner. At the base of that carb a high performance intake hosts a correct points distributor which sequences fire through MoPar Electronic Suppression cables. At the sides of that intake restored exhaust manifolds send spent gases in to great-sounding true-dual pipes. Cooling for the big engine is provided by an old school Chrysler radiator which rides in front of a correct 7-blade fan. Like the motor itself the cars Scorch Red engine bay is clean and highly detailed from its rebuilt wiper motor and tagged MoPar green cap battery to its Chrysler hoses correct clamps and familiar Chrysler washer tank. And naturally the mean mill is authenticated by a correct 2536430 casting number a November (11) 1st (1) 1968 (68) casting date and a matching partial VIN.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

This GTX definitely has the performance to back up its sinister good looks. Behind the big-bore engine the cars original A727 3-speed hangs a correct high performance build stamp and matching
