Thanks to just over $24K of sheetmetal work the cars solid body was meticulously straightened around new floors a new fender and a pair of fresh quarters. Naturally that first-rate toil included a slick coat of correct Barrier Blue 2-stage thats highlighted by bright white pinstripes. And today this razor-sharp Poncho is a first class head turner that proves things of quality have no fear of time.

Tough understated and attractive this coupe perfectly defines Pontiacs lasting legacy of tempering sophistication with aggression. The front of the car is dominated by trademark twin grilles which anchor a wide GTO script and ornate parking lamps between stacked T3 headlights and a broad bumper. Behind those grilles an arrowhead-branded hood balances a tasteful scoop in front of clean glass thats founded in highly polished stainless. At the sides of that hood expressive coke bottle fenders form a sporty profile that centers traditional door handles and correct emblems between full rocker guards and a simple mirror. And at the back of those fenders a stainless-trimmed valance hangs a sharp PONTIAC script and sinister taillights between small reverse lamps an ominous G T O badge and a second broad bumper.

ENGINE

Pop the cars long hood and the first thing youll notice is a 389 cubic inch Pontiac V8 thats been completely rebuilt and wrapped in attractive Turquoise skin. Less obvious of course is that stalwart mills correct 9778789 casting number February (B) 3rd (3) 1966 (6) casting date and Tri-power 4-speed-exclusive WS assembly stamp. At the top of the block correct Rochester carburetors bridge the gap between polished air cleaners bright stainless fluid lines and a correct cast iron intake. That intake rides between correct heads which hang an AC breather and attractive valve covers over hardened valve seats and a spry hydraulic cam. A familiar points distributor jolts spark through fresh Packard TV R Suppression cables. Cooling is provided by a shrouded and decaled radiator which sends water around a correct fan via GM-branded hoses and traditional tower clamps. Charge comes courtesy of a freshly rebuilt alternator and modern Delco-topped battery. Charred dinosaurs float through nicely restored exhaust manifolds. And aesthetically the cars impressive engine bay is fully detailed from its smooth black fenders and matted hood all the way to its yellow carb spring and familiar AC fuel
