No gimmicks no frills and no posturing; just presence and power - LOTS of power. This exceptionally clean Chevelle 300 is a subdued stunner that mixes 5.7 liters of Corvette V8 with a modern driveline thoroughly updated chassis components and ultra conservative aesthetics. And if youre looking for a unique classic thats road ready show-ready and just plain battle-ready its the perfect way to prowl the scene and bruise a few egos!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Featured in the February 2009 edition of Chevy High Performance Magazine this sublime sedan is an intentionally low-key take on the fundamentals of every hard-edged muscle car: tough looks sturdy components reduced weight and tons of power! The cars body-off restoration which wrapped in the Spring of 2007 began with a rust-free shell that was subjected to complete disassembly and a full chemical strip. Once that profile was clean and ready to work the pros at Dulles Virginias Ultimate Performance Company whipped up smooth PPG 2-stage that reflects as Corvette Artic White pigment. When that pigment dried custom badging and trick bowtie mirrors complemented new chrome and tinted glass. And roughly $93K later this Chevy hit the road as a top-notch resto-mod thats clean reliable and acutely focused.

ENGINE

Take a look under the hood and youll find 5.7 liters of stout LS1 small block thats good for 350 horsepower! Cribbed directly from a 2000 Corvette that proven mill combines a sturdy aluminum block with lightweight aluminum heads coil-near-plug ignition and aluminum flat top pistons to create razor-sharp throttle response and a torque band thats as wide as Texas. At the front of the engine a long air tube funnels wind from a big Kandamp;N filter thats seated in a custom-built isolation box. At the end of that tube a fourth-generation Camaro throttle body feeds a composite intake which caps completely stock internals. High-octane fossils are provided by electronic fuel injection which employs a quality Aeromotive regulator beneath a liquid-filled Auto Gage pressure gauge. Sparks are sequenced through fresh MSD plug wires. Spent gases roar through shielded Hummer H2 manifolds. Cooling comes courtesy of a custom 4-core radiator which seats a custom shroud and built-in transmission cooler in front of a powdercoated expansion tank and 16-inch SPAL puller fan. And GM serpentine components spin an AC Delco alternator opposite a low-mount AC compressor. Aesthetically both the Cast Silver mill and its assortment of bright accessories seem right at home inside their conservative Satin Black frame. And details like braided fluid lines a fresh Optima battery bright rail covers and a powdercoated power steering cooler ensure this Chevy has a steady balance of looks and performance.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Weighing in at roughly 3100 pounds this Chevy is light enough to perform while being strong enough to endure. Like its body the cars floors and frame were subjected to a full regimen of restoration that included thorough sandblasting 3M undercoating and professional powder-coating. The LS1 spins a proven 4L60E 4-speed that was sourced from a 1999 Camaro. That gearbox twists an Eaton Truetrac differential around Richmond 3.91 gears. That drivetrain pushes a Moser M9
