Please note...this vehicle is located in the Buffalo, New York area.</p><p>Riding atop a commanding 148-inch wheelbase length, this majestic 1941 Packard Model 1908 One-Eighty Limousine was one of 1,201 such cars originally produced for the members of Americas business, political, and social elites of the era. Capable of accommodating up to seven occupants and equipped with a pair of folding jump seats, this vehicles Model 1451 body by Packard features an open passenger compartment with no division window to separate the driver and passengers, unlike other limousine bodies available for Packardandrsquo;s Model 1908 chassis. Packardandrsquo;s excellent 356 cubic-inch L-head inline eight-cylinder engine delivering 160 rated horsepower deliver power and the prodigious torque required to propel the limousine with authority. Power-operated windows and wool broadcloth upholstery on all seating surfaces round out the features of this truly impressive automobile.</p><p>This example is particularly fascinating, as the rear rooftop was opened and equipped with a snap-on cover for weather protection. A pair of Ash bows was also fitted to the car, obviously intended to support dignitaries while standing up through the open roof for all to see during parades and formal processions. According to its known history, this vehicle was purchased from a collector in Tennessee and brought to Phoenix, Arizona in 1993. Mark Anderson of Classic Restoration in Apache Junction, Arizona, initiated a body-off-frame restoration in 2002 and Glenn Vaughn Restoration Services of Post Falls, Idaho completed the car in January 2011. To those in the classic-car industry, Mr. Vaughn is well-known and highly respected restorer with a well-deserved reputation for reputation for the highest quality work, attention to detail, and consummate knowledge of classic coachbuilt Packardandrsquo;s. It should be noted that Mr. Vaughn is the son of Ken Vaughn of Californiaandrsquo;s Hill and Vaughn Restoration, and the Vaughn family has shown many of their restorations at the Pebble Beach Concours dandrsquo;Elegance and other premier venues. In addition, a great deal of time, effort, and money was invested into the restoration and to the sourcing of original Packard parts to ensure the restorations authenticity.</p><p>During the restoration process, Mr. Vaughn carefully evaluated the modifications that were made to the vehicles roof in detail and found that the work had clearly been performed by a professional coachbuilder to high standards of workmanship. In addition, the car was thoroughly searched for a tag or any conclusive evidence of the specific coachbuilder that had opened the roof and added the Ash bows, but no tag or telltale items were found to solve the mystery. Nonetheless, this expertly restored 1941 Packard Model 1908 One-Eighty Limousine simply remains an impressive and highly fascinating top-level coachbuilt automobile from the immediate pre-WW II period. 1941 Packard One Eighty Limousine
